Crangel softgels are formulated with high potency cranberry extract. The product contains flaxseed oil in a special base of phosphatides to aid in absorption. Cranberry extract has been demonstrated to aid in the treatment of cystitis and urinary tract infections. The active ingredient in cranberry extract is quinic acid, the precursor to hippuric acid. This component effectively acidifies the urine, lowering the pH and creating a less favorable environment for bacteria. It appears to prevent bacteria from attaching to the lining of the bladder and urethra and exerts bacteriostatic activity in the urine.
